Jeremy Niederwerder is the Founder and Principal of Switchgrass Construction Advisors (SCA), an independent Owner's Representation and construction advisory firm dedicated to protecting owners' interests throughout planning, design, procurement, construction, and project closeout.
With more than 25 years of construction leadership experience and oversight of more than $3 billion in capital projects, Jeremy has built a reputation for helping owners maximize value while minimizing risk. His expertise includes preconstruction, project controls, financial stewardship, procurement, cost management, scheduling, quality assurance, contract administration, and operational readiness. He has successfully delivered projects across the education, healthcare, sports, federal, government, commercial, industrial, mixed-use, and multifamily sectors.
Since founding Switchgrass Construction Advisors in 2024, Jeremy has led approximately $150 million in successful capital projects, providing independent leadership to school districts, healthcare organizations, faith-based institutions, municipalities, agricultural organizations, and private owners throughout the Midwest. SCA serves as an extension of an owner's leadership team, delivering objective guidance, transparent communication, disciplined financial oversight, and proactive risk management from concept through occupancy.

SCA brings decades of experience gained from multiple perspectives—including owner, contractor, and facility management—across education, healthcare, commercial, sports, and government sectors.
With a unique understanding of projects from every angle, SCA helps owners navigate complex technical challenges, optimize schedules, control costs, and mitigate risk. Our approach combines rigorous oversight, data-driven decision-making, and innovative problem-solving, giving owners confidence and clarity at every stage.
Rooted in our commitment to the community, SCA’s mission is to give back by empowering owners with the expertise and support needed to achieve their goals. Prior to launching SCA, Jeremy spent fifteen years in commercial construction, including ten years with Mortenson Construction, where he managed complex federal, healthcare, government, and sports facilities across the United States. He later transitioned to the owner's side, serving eight years as an Owner's Representative, including five years with Kansas State Athletics.
At Kansas State, Jeremy played a key role in developing and implementing the department's long-term facilities master plan while overseeing approximately $500 million in capital improvements. His leadership helped deliver transformational facilities that continue to serve K-State Athletics today while emphasizing long-term stewardship of the university's resources.
Jeremy believes every successful project begins with thoughtful planning, transparent communication, and unwavering advocacy for the owner. His collaborative leadership style and practical construction experience help organizations confidently navigate complex capital projects while achieving exceptional value for every dollar invested.
